The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DoD). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), DARPA, the Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

We have a near-term need for Senior Weapon System and Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity Analysts to support the Cyber Warfare Directorate within the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Platform and Weapon Portfolio Management. This role is located at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities

The Cyber Warfare Directorate provides cybersecurity and cyberspace operations expertise for the entirety of OUSD(A&S). In this role, you will assist government personnel in developing policy and governance regarding the acquisition approach, systems engineering, and cybersecurity resilience of DoD weapon systems and defense critical infrastructure. You will coordinate with DoD components and agencies, provide technical and analytic support, develop position papers and potential courses of action to mitigate vulnerabilities, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required:

    7+ years of experience in Cybersecurity
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in the development and/or implementation of Cybersecurity handbooks/guidance/directives
  • Basic knowledge of the interdependencies between IT systems, cybersecurity, cyberspace operations, and DoD missions
  • Demonstrated experience with the operational and functional requirements involved with Weapon Systems and Industrial Control Systems and how the DoD Risk Management Framework applies
  • Experience with ICS standards IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, NERC-CIP, and NEI 08-09
  • Experience with DFARS cybersecurity clauses, including 252.204-7009, 252.204-7010, and 252.204-7012
  • Experience developing executive-level briefings, information memorandum, and white papers
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility

Desired:

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience supporting US Cyber Command or a Service Cyber Component
