Shipbuilding Configuration Management Analyst

Position Summary:
As Configuration Management Analyst, you will provide technical support in engineering analysis for a large shipbuilding contract. This position includes supporting primarily with the Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM) efforts at the Washington Navy Yard.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Providing administrative and programmatic support in retrieving and updating the Change Management files.
  • Utilize CM / DM Database to track, store and status changes including ECPs, CDRLs, Deviations, Waterfront Change, Drawings, PPDs, Technical Manuals and other technical and contract related documents.
  • Perform all facets of technical reviews, including the retrieval of contract files, tasking to Subject Matter Experts for review, documentation of current status and the Government response to the shipbuilder.
  • Utilize a variety of DM systems to provide an accurate and complete picture of shipbuilder progress toward contract requirement completion.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in ship construction and production efforts such as assisting with audits, ship quality assurance testing, and production readiness.
  • Participate in Planning efforts and Production Readiness Reviews, 3D Modeling Design Reviews and other program reviews as required.
  • Participate in Change Review Boards to support and update local DM Systems with Action Items.
  • Generate reports, performance metrics and briefs as necessary to support management of the technical contractual baselines.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of shipbuilding industry experience.
  • Configuration Management Experience with Ship Design and Construction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Sharepoint).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Technical and production deficiency management experience, including experience with Technical Support Management (TSM).
  • Data Management
  • SQL
Physical Demands & Expectations:
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
