SUMMARY:

As a Business Intelligence Intern, you will be responsible for a range of support activities for executing data projects supporting the Global Service organization. Activities will include designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports that identify trends, patterns, and insights from data to support strategic decision-making. This onsite position will be based onsite at our headquarters in Madison, WI. The target start date for this role is Summer 2024 and has potential to be extended into the Fall 2024 school semester.

REPORTING TO/DEPARTMENT:

  • Global Service & Clinical Training Manager / Global Service Support

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports for business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to data cleansing, transformation, and enrichment processes to ensure data accuracy and quality.
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions to understand the information needs of different departments.
  • Learn and utilize data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to present data in meaningful ways.
  • Support ad-hoc data analysis requests from different business units.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or similar, from an accredited college or university
  • Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or graduate level student in good academic standing
  • Solid understanding of basic business concepts and the role of data in decision-making
  • Proficiency with at least one data visualization tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Familiarity with data manipulation and querying languages (e.g., SQL)
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred:

  • Coursework or projects related to business intelligence, data analysis, or data visualization.
  • Proficient in using SQL for the manipulation of big data.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and no-SQL database concepts and data modeling
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database technologies (e.g., Azure, Snowflake, InfluxDB)
  • Previous internship or project experience involving business intelligence or data analysis.
  • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.

Accuray Pay Transparency Statement:

Accuray pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Accuray Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate's compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, future potential and internal pay parity.
