Job Title: DB Systems Engineer

Location: Ft Meade MD ( remote Flexibility)

Clearance required by the project: Active Secret or Top Secret or interim Secret

Education : Bachelor's Degree with 10 Years Experience

Description:

  • CompQsoft is seeking a Database Systems Engineer/API integrator to join our DISA program team in Fort Meade, MD. As a Database Systems Engineer/ Application Programming Interface (API) integrator you will be performing duties/responsibilities to assist in machine-to-machine connection between various databases in the cloud and build records and tables using APIs.
  • You will be joining a team that provides systems engineering, software development, configuration management and application testing support for a Weapons and Space software development effort.
  • You will frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations to Government leadership and Mission Partners.

Skills:

  • Experience developing Application Programming Interface (API) between ServiceNow (MariaDB) and various external data sources in the cloud.
  • * Experience with MariaDB (MySQL)
  • * Experience with federated database architectures
  • * Experience with container-based application development, container orchestration
  • * Experience with Cloud-based application development
  • * Developing system design solution that satisfies the system requirements and fulfills functional analysis.
  • * Performing Requirements Analysis: Inclusive of managing system requirements; Deriving follow-on requirements and requirements from understanding of stakeholder needs
  • * Participating in establishing and gaining approval of the definition of a system or component under development (requirements, designs, interfaces, test procedures, etc.)
  • * The development of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents
  • * Coordinating and executing the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews
  • * Generating alternative and innovative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions
  • * Defining the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems, and work products

Responsibilities

  • * The duties and assignments include translating high-level requirements into infrastructure and data storage solutions; creating proof of concept (PoC)s and/or prototypes to evaluate various cloud platforms and technologies, architecting and implementing cloud environments on various platforms; defining and implementing an end-to-end Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solution in the cloud; developing and supporting a migration plan from legacy on-premises infrastructure to multi-cloud/hybrid cloud platforms
  • * In addition, the Systems Engineer will execute the following responsibilities:
  • * Research, design, implement and manage the cloud infrastructure that will support the modernization of current enterprise applications and infrastructure upgrade of the current technology stack.
  • * Develop standards operating procedure and best practices, including performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • * Develop detailed technical migration plan of the applications including legacy data.
  • * Participate in an agile team to deliver the full lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, design, development, testing and deployment.
  • * Update and maintain system design and architecture documents.
  • * Review and provide feedback on functional and technical requirements.
  • * Define and propose solutions for meeting future requirements of the organization.
  • * Define and implement and end-to-end integrated software development lifecycle (SDLC) pipeline to include tools to support test-driven development (TDD), static code analysis, code reviews, continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD), and automated security scanning
