Job Overview

To provide skills necessary to perform Multimedia and Information System Management Support Services at the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) at Patrick Air Force Base.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Utilize tools in Cisco Prime to analyze and correct wired network deficiencies.
  • Utilize tools in Cisco Prime to analyze wireless traffic within the DEOMI Wireless LAN and design improvements where needed to balance WAP loads.
  • Use Microsoft SCCM tools to analyze and apply need patches and upgrades to network connected hardware throughout the enterprise.
  • Manage DEOMI web servers, file servers, and domain controllers - set user permissions, monitor events, logs, and maintain backups.
  • Provide desktop and laptop hardware and software support for Staff, Faculty & Students.
  • Track trouble tickets and inventory in DEOMI Integrated Database.
  • Configure laptops and printers and provide support for classroom training.
  • Evaluate and determine which work orders to direct Base Help Desk for issues falling under their jurisdiction; submit and track work orders that go to Base Help Desk.
  • Provide rapid response for command group and directors.
  • Troubleshoot Outlook e-mail issues and elevate relevant problems to USAF Help Desk.
  • Provide computer peripheral support (printers, scanners, PDAs, cameras, etc).
  • Manage and support network printer/scanner/copiers.
  • Process USAF security directives and apply to servers when applicable.
  • Determine data port and cabling needs and generate requests for 45 SCS Work Control.
  • Maintain server security certification and accreditation; assess system modifications and patches, determine impacts, and recommend implementation or adjustments to system changes.
  • Plan & execute migrations from current Windows operating systems to new Windows operating systems on servers, desktops and laptops.
  • Maintain network operation & integrity of DEOMI student LAN.
  • Maintain network operation & integrity of Staff & Faculty LAN and elevate relevant problems to Base Help Desk.
  • Maintain & Configure DEOMI wireless LAN.
  • Develop Accreditation Documentation for DEOMI Systems in accordance with DoD Policies.
  • Develop training materials and procedures to train users in the proper use of information systems to include hardware and software.
  • Meet with client to determine future and ongoing computer and network support and submit recommendations to accomplish the mission.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have associate degree or higher and 5 or more years of experience in network administration and desktop support.
    • Must have or be able to obtain secret clearance.
    • Must have current CompTIA Security+ CE Certificate.
  • Must possess superior knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 & Windows 11.
  • Must possess superior knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 through current version.
  • Must possess superior knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016 through current version.
  • Must possess superior knowledge of networking principles & practices.
  • Must have ability to professionally interact with military and civilian users in solving hardware and software problems ranging from simple to complex.
  • Must have ability to work well as a team member as well as independently.
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be prompt and efficient in meeting work schedules and handling unexpected issues.
    • Must have strong written and oral communications skills.
    • Must maintain effective working relationship with all levels of personnel.
    • Must have valid driver's license.
