Warehouse Specialist
The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Their primary role involves maintaining accurate inventory records, receiving and inspecting incoming shipments, organizing and arranging stock, and fulfilling customer orders in a timely manner. Warehouse specialists ensure efficient material handling, including proper storage, picking, packing, and shipping of products. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate logistics, optimize space utilization, and implement safety protocols.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Warehouse Specialist: $24.67-$24.00 hr
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Warehouse Specialist Responsibilities Include:
- Verify materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
- Route materials to prescribed storage locations.
- Store, stack, or palletize materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
- Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials.
- Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.
- Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
- This worker may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Warehouse Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Inventory Management: Proficiency in maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting regular audits, and implementing efficient tracking systems.
- Logistics and Supply Chain: Understanding of logistics principles, including shipping, receiving, and distribution processes. Familiarity with supply chain management concepts and best practices.
- Material Handling: Experience in safely and effectively operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Knowledge of proper lifting techniques and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to effectively organize and arrange stock within the warehouse, optimizing space utilization and facilitating efficient retrieval and replenishment processes.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order picking, packing, and shipping. Ability to identify discrepancies, perform quality checks, and maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software. Familiarity with barcode scanning technology and experience in generating reports and analyzing data.
- Requires High School diploma or equivalent and one to two years of related experience.
